Whitewash in the National Post: Major Dr. Hasan believes to the last fibre of his being that jihad is the way and sharia is the goal--a core belief of  Islam. But don't worry. According to Daveed Gartenstein-Ross, "The terrorist's ideology cannot be described as Islam itself, but rather a rigid and fringe understanding of the that faith."

I watched the 50-slide Power Point presentation. Hasan understood the faith just fine. It's the reason he did what he did. That only a "fringe" (a rather large one, if you care to crunch the numbers) are willing to put their lives on the line as he did in expectation of an enticing posthumous pay-off is not evidence of the "fringe" nature of Allah's call to jihad (which, should Daveed care to check his history, was the driving force behind the Islamic conquest of quite a large swath of the globe). Instead, it shows that most Muslims have either decided to install sharia through non-violent means, or, for whatever reason (and perhaps for the time being) have chosen to ignore the call.
